why was i ever convinced it'd be a good idea to own a house? life would be SO much easier if i was just renting and could call a landlord to come fix all the stuff that needed fixin'. i've just spent an eternity spackling plaster, sanding (the clean-up on this alone is worth never buying a house), painting, fixing the electical outlets that got zapped by carelessness... and next comes the roof...and then the front porch needs all new wood, and the basement is leaking... all this and the media has kindly informed me that "i'm underwater" regarding the value of my home. awesome.

I am a homeowner too and it does suck. I have a condo and I hate paying the HOA though it is necessary.

Dude! I know how you feel! I just bought a house and for the past 2 months my father, father-in-law, and I have been working everyday after work, working on this money-pit. I know how you feel with the sanding...we stripped, sanded, and re-varnished the hardwood floors, and there was tons of dust all over the place...so ya...the mess from sanding alone sucks. But fight on my friend, fight on. It will be worth it (at least that is what everyone else is saying to me...so I thought I would pass that along). Ciao.
